New guy here with a quick question!

First off I'd like to intro myself, my name is Tyler I'm a 20 year old in Colorado. I just recently bought myself a 2007 Mini Cooper S mellow yellow in color 6 speed and love it! I've used forums like this one for my previous cars and know what a big help they can be, so I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone!

My question is, where can I buy a new black drip rail assembly? Had a new windshield installed under warranty today and the guy broke the clips on both sides and on the drivers side he ripped the inner piece that holds the clip, then tried to use windshield glue to fix it. It looks like crap. I'm going to call the company responsible to see if they'll cover the new one but would like to price it out first.

Thanks again for any help!
Tyler

Welcome !

Few threads here on this very topic.

The curved trim on the corner is only available when buying the entire side from MINI. If your foam backing behind the A pillar was not put back on by the window guy, you will need it....friend had his installed by a body shop after his MINI was attacked by a deer....lol. Anyways they forgot to install it, and not only is the wind noise deafining on the highway, but water will seep in where it should not as it is made to direct water from the drip rail and down thru areas behind the black lexan A pillar cover.

Patronize a window replacement shop who knows the car. Check with your local MINI club to see who they use in your area. Typically speaking, the van companies do not have replacement MINI clips. And the window top strip they sell is a generic piece which comes off of a roll in the back of the van. After a few bad experiences, I now have mine done at the dealership. MINI clips and parts are just a short walk from the car.....

GL !

I believe the piece you're referring to is the one that sits above the windshield right? The piece I need is the entire drip rail that goes from A pillar to A pillar around the entire roof. Looks like the guy didn't know how to remove it and just pulled on it and it ripped the clips out on both sides and now doesn't fit correctly. I may have to see how much mini would charge to fix it, which would be sort of a pain in the butt seeing as the closest dealership is up past Denver (I'm in Colorado Springs) but I guess I'll have to see what I can do.

Thanks for your help!

Underlined from first post. - MINI has their own piece as well. Part no. ends in 034 and is same piece used for the R56's.

I think I'm just bad at explaining what piece I need. I need the harder black plastic/rubber piece that goes around the back of the car, that separates the roof from the windows/body of the car. The rubber at the top of the windshield between the roof is fine, just the edges of the harder plastic drip rail aren't sitting flush anymore, which is where he tried to glue one side back. I might try and get some pictures tomorrow.

Sorry for the confusion.

Yep that would be the piece I'm looking for! I guess I wouldn't need the entire piece around the car just the ones that have go over top of the black a pillar trim. Thanks so much for the help!
