I just ordered a rack from Outmotoring. And then after signing up for their newsletter realized I could have saved another 10% if I had ordered on Friday.
I have a R56 hardtop MCS.

 

Here are a couple of pics of my son's car with a Thule installed where the front wheel comes off and put in the front wheel holder which is folded down here. If you don't have quick release hubs, this wouldn't be away to go.



The carrier trays are Rocky Mounts Euro Pitchfork which are also spec'd for the MINI base rack. The front wheel carriers are Thule with a little customization in the mounting to the Thule crossbar so as not to interfer with the sun roof opening.
