Viper Smart Start

Has anyone put one of these in their Mini? I have an automatic, I am assuming that is a prereq. Or any other auto starter? I live in Boston it gets cold would like a nice cozy car in the morning. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

I would like to know this as well. I am reading conflicting answers about whether it is possible. Not sure why I couldn't in a MINI but can in a BMW.

I had them on all of my cars for over 10 years up north. Loved them. Now I live in Florida and did not bother to install them anymore.

I live in Michigan so this is a must. My friend who is a genius at this stuff is the only one in Michigan that I know that can work on MINIs(N18) that do them. I heard the N14 are pretty easy to do now a days. I went recently to a Car Tunes place and they said they couldn't do it because the wiring is different on the N18. But my buddy has done almost any car. He is going to do mine next month because he said it will take him four-five hours. That is because he's adding Drone to mine so I can start it from my phone too. Ill report back to let everyone know how it went!

I bookmarked this post:

a couple of weeks ago, I'm very interested in a remote starter as well, some day. Nicer to come out to a starting-to-cool-off auto after being parked in the summer sun all day.

It is possible! I have a place here in Indianapolis that has been working with me for about a year (sounds worse than it was) and they finally got it tweaked just right to make it work perfectly. It is a tremendous plus in the summer with a dark car and nice for the harsh winters. I'm about to get a Countryman (on order now) and will likely put one in that as well since they finally got it just right. The name of the place is Audio Electronics here in town. You can Google them if you want. They are really nice dudes so they may be helpful in giving any installer you're dealing with helpful tips. I do know you have to give up a key fob so they can do a work around with the fob starter. Hope this is helpful to you all.
