Mini
Electric Blue was awesome but Chili Red is MINIs best color due to it's longevity, eye-popping ability, and it's non-metallic.
However, I'm quite smitten with White Silver these days.

I dig Spice Orange well enough, but I'd love to see MINI take another stab at that general hue. In certain light and photos, Spice can look a little tomato-red -- and I don't like red cars. I'd like to see something more definitively orange.
In certain light, photos of beautiful Chili Red come out looking orangish. I don't like orange cars.

Actually, I do like some orange colors. Just not orangish-red or reddish-orange.
Now, you wanna talk orange look no further than the Pure Red on the Countryman. We went with it anyway, but we do wish they offered Chili Red instead. I never understand why they always insist on different colors for different models.
Ask and you shall receive. The featured launch color of the Paceman Cooper will be Copper metallic, which is described as a 'deep orange' on motoringfile. The featured color of the S will be another iteration of Laser Blue, this one being called Starlight Blue metallic. Of course, you can order any color on the Paceman from the Countryman palette. I'm leaning toward BRG with black roof/mirror caps for my Cooper All 4.
Fantastic Question
Great question Gray Raven, AND you listed the two colors that I LOVED! I wish upon wish for an encore of a bright cheery yellow (much like Liquid Yellow-my favorite MINI color of all time). I think MINIs are made for bright, fun hues. Even though I love my Laser Blue, it wouldn't even have been considered had Liquid Yellow still existed at time of purchase. I also loved, loved Solar Red. If I was Lovey Howell and could have all those colors in my driveway (LY, SR & LB), I would be ecstatic. I truly do hope they bring back something similar to Liquid Yellow someday, would be extremely welcomed.
Now they just need to bring it to the R59 before I order mine. Which at my current rate of saving will be between a year (if I want to finance part of it) to two years (if I just want to pay cash).

Also, the mention of Eclipse Grey looking slightly brown reminded me of a color from some years back. I think it was called Royal Grey or somesuch. It had a very definite brownish undertone. I actually quite liked it. Wouldn't want it on a Roadster, but it was nicely classy on the hardtops I saw it on.
There was a Purple Haze 2005 for sale in town when I was looking for a MINI. Oh, I wanted it soooo bad! The roof and mirrors were even all body color, which made it even more rare. The seller kept lowering the price every 2 weeks or so, but it was never low enough by the time I decided to sell my car for the MINI. When I first saw it, it was listed at $12k. A few weeks after I bought my MINI, it was down to almost $9k. Maybe I should have held out for it...lol
Another color I almost wanted was Pure Gold. A dealer had an awesome deal going on it ($7500), but there was no way I was going to trade the car I had at the time, cuz I wouldn't have gotten near what I wanted for it). This MINI was all body color as well.
Velvet Red is another one. There is a MINI I see now on my commute to work in the mornings that is that color, and it even has a decal going along the bottom side of the body with MINI built into the decal. There's also one (full body color) on Craigslist here that is going for $12k. It's a great color!
As much as I like those colors, I'm still very happy I found an Indi Blue. It didn't take me very long to decide that that was the color I REALLY wanted

Okay, I am going to say it ICE BLUE must stay. It is one of the reto colors back to the 60's mini's but I like it and I am part of a very small exclusive club since i haven't seen another one on the road and no one else is making a car in that pale blue tone. So I am guessing it is going to go away but that is okay......It will be be come a collector car since so few were made compared to the popular colors.
When do the new colors come out, with each new model year? Do they ever make a color change between yearly releases? How many new colors do they usually release per year?
The reason I ask is, I'd like to buy a Mini Hardtop soon, but I can't seem to find the color that's right for me.
