I would not bother....it probably just feeds false air temp data thru the IAT module.

Get a Sprint Booster or DSpec1 if you desire improved throttle response. If you want true HP/Torque gains then your gonna have to reach into your wallet to do it correctly, starting with exhaust/intake ect.

There are a ton of threads here under "drivetrain modifications".

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...fications-189/

And I would not get a tune from just any "tuner" either. Our MINI's are not like the Subaru's which are basically "de-tuned" before importation into the USA.

An inexperienced tuner on a MINI would most likely just lean your engine out for great numbers and have no regard to the engine's longevity.

There are no substitutions or shortcuts when it comes to safely modding a daily driver MINI.

For the love of all that is holy do not get that chip you will **** your MINI up. Yes you will **** your car up with one of those. Now step away from the computer, put down the meth pipe, take a deep breath and research the modifications sections for R56s.

Chips are pure snake oil...... when they tell you 60hp for $60(or something along those lines) BEWARE !!!! all they are doing is helping you empty your wallet, shame on them for preying on the unknowing.

Search for that chip on the modifications sections for R56s. There was a post from someone who tried it I believe. I wish I could get 15 or more hp and torque with better gas mileage for that price without hurting my engine. If it was possible MINI would have done it or offer it.

Anything that hooks up to the IAT is just a resistor. It lies to the computer about what the intake air temperature is.
