Does This Irritate Anyone Else?

There isn't much bd I can say about MINI, in fact, I'm looking to move on to my fourth, but I have a major beef with the way they set up their standardized dealer websites. The lack of information on EVERY dealers' website is annoying. I can't decide between the coupe of the AWD Countryman or between the base or S models. To check the inventory on these possibilities I have to go through and research numerous times instead of having the option to just check the lineup of S coupes, base coupes and AWD Countrymen all on one page. Lowes, Sears, Best Buy and most other merchandisers give you the ability to compare a nmber of different products. But this isn't the main thrust of my gripe...

Why is there so little info regarding the installed options? The 5 dealers within 100 miles of me all nicely display a picture of the cars, their price, the standard features and even the VIN. But none of them list the installed options. Obviously with the wide variety of prices for the 8 coupes on their lot, wouldn't you think the dealer might take a few more minutes to list the options? I was hoping to save myself 5 phone calls to 5 different salesmen at 5 different dealerships just to find a car with the options I need.

And God knows if they're telling the truth when you call and ask. I wouldn't put it past them to tell you they have one on the lot just so you'd drive all the way out there and maybe buy something else once you made the effort. At least if the info was on their websites I could cull my list down to one or two dealerships that might have the car I'm looking for. It seems rather inefficient.

Certainly not a deal breaker, but if MINI professes to be the Apple of carmakers, they ought to make things just as easy for their customers.

Just order a car to your specs then you don't need to worry about dealer inventory.

A carefully worded email to all the dealers outlining all the features and options that you require. Be clear that you are looking for someone to step up and ear your business. Who knows, you might just get lucky. And a car on the lot has much more negotiating room than one you order.
