2013 MSRP/Invoice data
If you look at the numbers for 2012 on KBB.com it looks like the markup from invoice to MSRP is about 10% on a Roadster S. 2012s seem to be selling at about $750 under MSRP.
Logic says if you special order you should get a discount since the dealer has no floor plan finance charges to absorb, but it really depends upon your relationship to the dealer, number of dealers in the area and how many units are allocated/available for a particular model.

Thanks! I thought I'd do similar and just readjust the 2012 numbers but the packages are completely different on what I am looking at on the 2013. Besides, going into negotiations, it would probably serve me well to have accurate via estimated numbers on my side. Oil trying to swipe this our on my android so sporty of out is as boot forked. Had to reedit everything but these last two sentences.
I checked a few different models and all MINIs seem to be a consistent 10% markup from invoice to MSRP. Now this doesn't account for any manufactures hold back or incentive money. But even knowing, to the penny how much the dealer has in a car isn't going to get you too far, at least not with the MINI dealers I visited. They have the attitude that if you don't want it, somebody else will. I'm not saying this in a snotty or pissy way, but just a fact of life. MINI just doesn't sell enough cars in the US to go the way of Hyundai and others who sell for invoice and live off the hold back and monthly factory bonuses.
When you consider US sales of around 40,000 units (all models included) per year and compare that to sales of 225,000+ Hyundai Sonatas -- well, you get the picture.

I just spoke with a gentleman at ConsumerReports.org who told me that while other manufacturers have 2013 MSRP and invoice figures for their available 2013 models, Mini will not be releasing invoicing data for the 2013 models (at least for options and packages). That changes my fundamental strategy of bargaining from invoice upwards. I'm pricing these cars and I suppose I'm not the only potential Mini customer this is going to affect. I figure for those of us who employ the "invoice up" strategy, there are two options:
(1) Determine the MSRP markup percentage for equivalent 2012 options and apply to the 2013 models as an estimated invoice value
(2) Ask the MA for the numbers. It could establish a good will, but it does give him a bit of a leg up in the process that I am relying on him to furnish numbers for me to negotiate his price.
