Cold Air Intake

I recently traded in my 2010 Justa for a 2011 MCS. I have installed a Magnaflow cat back, and now want to help the engine breathe better. Don't have the budget for a real expensive set up, but maybe something in the $200 - $250 range? What do you suggest?

From what I've read, the Defenders of Speed is the only true CAI available. Never seen it in person, though.

I would tend to agree that the DoS intake is a good choice, albeit a little out of your price range. You should save up for a tune (or an AccessPort) though, since your Mini's ECU will not allow you to see the full benefit that better breathing should provide. You get much better "bang for the buck" from a tune than you do from just about any other mod...

Also, be aware that you won't really feel the difference; generally a "butt dyno" is only accurate to +/- 10%. You'll hear the difference, however, and see it in ETs (if you're a racer of some sort).

My Mini is certified, so I don't want to do anything that would void the warranty, but thanks for the suggestion.
