Plasti Dip

I recently started to black the chrome on my MINI with Plasti Dip and it has been awesome so far. Next week I'll be Dipping my wheels Matte White to complement the Checker theme i have already. I was wondering if anyone else has tried out Plastidip? Post your pics and experiences with this product!

All I've managed to do so far is my mirror caps. The previous owner had orange caps to match the stripes. Somebody decided to take those off and put on bare caps, that were almost grey. (no primer or paint at all) I decided to try plastidip, and I'm pleased with the results.

I may try to do a little more and black out some of the chrome that's left, but I just feel like once I start, I'm gonna want to do it all.
I've seen an entire MINI plastidipped. I know there's someone with a flat black plastidipped MINI here on NAM, and it looks great. At AMVIV this year, there was a MINI that was covered with WHITE Plastidip. It kind of looked like the MINI was dirty, and sandblasted. I'll bet it looked good when it was just covered, but I didn't think it looked that good. The black I've seen looked great in the pics. I think plastidip is great in moderation. It's a great tool to use for blacking out, and it so easy to use and remove. I'm amazed more people don't use it more!!

totally agree , more people should give it a try. Its been really easy to use as long as your a patient with the application. AND even IF you get it wrong , wait for it to dry, peel it off, try again. I'll try to get some updated pictures on here of my MINI.

I've dipped my stock grill, and that's it. It's a bit of a pain cleaning bugs off.
Not to deter you, cus I really want to see it, but how are you going to clean brake dust off white plasti dip rims?

I was going to plasti dip my rims orange but I can't deal with brake dust.

Its actually really easy. Soap, water, and a rag. If you hand wash them it all comes off pretty easily. You could also always use a glossifier on the matte finish to help repel.

LOL check the Interior Mods area there is a super long thread on Plastidip. I have it on my side scuttles, door handles and gas cap. Done my door handles twice as I manage to cause it to wear quickly with use.
