I haven't seen very many fellow Countrymen on the road in my area ... every time I do, I get excited thinking we're going to have a "moment" ... each time the driver has been oblivious! I get the feeling they're not even aware they're driving an S vs. base (but that's why we're on this board, right?).

I've received just one fellow-MINI wave so far, and it was from a guy driving a MCS.

 

I would really like a Justa grill and hood on my S.

BTW: Who here's got "JUSTA" personalized plates?

I used to be a member. I was more active in DCMM's though. And then I moved out to the western part of the state and don't participate in either group right now. I'll probably get back into it sometime in the not-too-distant future.

 

Could also refer to a Justa as a Naturally Aspirated Cooper, all the fun of driving without the pressure!

I drive an R53 and I don't discriminate I love that anticipation of a passing wave. I'm lucky to have received many MINI waves, even a playful prompt for a road race (didn't follow through, of course)

 

I've owned a 2005 Mini Cooper non-S since it was new. I've heard of Justa, as in not an S, just a Cooper, or "Justa". But Justy? Wasn't that a little Subaru back in the 80's? Lol. But seriously, Justy, never heard of our cars being called that.

 

Does this mean that my dog is naturally aspirated?

My wife would probably argue that I am, too.

 

The base/Justa/straight model = Reliability

I take my 79 to a lot of local car shows and I consistently hear know it alls telling their accompaniments "LOOK, a Mini Cooper"

I have an information placard I hang in the window

"1979 Austin Morris Mini Saloon - modified .... NOT a Cooper"

it starts a conversation routinely but not always. Some know it alls claim I don't know what I'm talking about . . .

NOTHING WRONG with a Justa .... it is just a name and so far as I know does not violate rules of: race, religion, national origin, color, gender, age or handicap .....

 

Have a Cooper ( justa ) and a JCW, had S in the past. Love my Cooper.

 

I love my "justa", that said I had a a little MINI envy when I was at a club breakfast and everyone else had MCS JCWs and MCSs. 😉

 

I drove two new '15 Minis back to back at a dealership this past Summer. One was Justa Roadster and the other was an S. Loved both. The Justa felt more comfortable. The S had a bit more punch. I was very happy in either one.

Wave at any Mini you see out there on the road. Don't be shy.
