How do you lubricate the sun roof?
How do you lubricate the sun roof?
There are plenty of threads talking about what to use but I have not seen any on where to lube!
I cleaned the rails and put lube inside the tracks on the sides, but it was worse than when I started.
So I put some lube on the top of the rail thinking the part may touch when sliding, nope did not help.
I then found that the metal part that slides on the rail touches the side of the rubber seal on the outside of the sunroof while it is moving and I put some silicone grease there and that helped a lot.
So where am I supposed to be lubricating?

I use dry lube which does not attract lots of globbing dirt and dust. Do the rails and any moving parts.
I also use the wet Silicon or Teflon on the rubber but I rub off the excess to leave a thin film only.

I use a dry or grease free liquid lube. I then use a soda straw(bendy type) and place it down the track with the roof open and give it a shot with the little red nozzle attached to the spray nozzle. I do this every 60 to 90 days and sofar so good.
