i have a first gen '02 mini and the driver-side window is tempermental. it wont roll down for a few weeks then it will for a few weeks. when it wont, if i hit the switch i can hear the relay engauge in the car and the relay in the door try. the dealership never finds an issue, its like the gremlins make it work then stop it after i leave...anyone get the same grief?

 

my 04 does the same thing.

 

The temp fix is a hard thump above the loudspeaker in the door

 

My 04 MCS did the same thing - had both window motors replaced several times over the life of the car. Hitting the door helps

On the up side, once they are replaced by a dealer they are covered by a warranty ( but the dealer charges $$$$ ) - if you want to save some $ have them replaced by a non-dealer MINI mechanic , just get a quote first.
