you might try this Wurth HHS 2000 An awesome synthetic lubricant that adheres strongly to metal. Resists temperatures from -31oF to +392oF. When applied, HHS 2000 starts off as a penetrant then sets into a clear grease for long lasting lubrication. Does not contain any silicones. Highly resistant to water, salt, most acids and alkalies and it's Ph neutral. Will not harm plastics and rubber. Long reach tube included.

I have other issues with my 2004 cooper. The first one is after driving it for a couple of minutes, I hear some noise like if some part of the car is unscrewed and shaking especially when the road is bumpy. The second one is my CD player. All CD I play in the car sound like scratched and got stop at some point where I have to remove the CD. However when I play that CD on my home stereo, it plays well and no problem. Anyone out there experienced those issues before ? I really appreciate your assistance. Thanks.

For the bumpy road noise, if it is coming from the back put a couple of wraps of black electrical tape around the chrome rear door latch. Can't help with the CD.
