Help!! a bit of a problem...

Ok well me and my parents ordered my 2012 Mini Cooper about 2 weeks ago from the dealership (I had to order one to my preference because the dealer didn't have my preffered color, accesories, etc.) So after, the dealer said that the car will take about 6-8 weeks from the time of order and will he said that he will give the "production number" to my parents 3 days after the order (which was a Friday so the dealer said he will email the "production number" on Monday.) Ok well its been 2 weeks from now and my parents said they haven't gotten the "production number" from the dealer. I was thinking of calling them tomorrow or something but I am not sure yet. I might sound desperate but I mean 2 weeks, c'mon. Thats like me never turning in homework in a class like WTF? I might sound desperate but I am seriously thinking of just buying a different car. I don't know, do you guys have the same experience as me?

Wow...relaaaaaax. Production numbers are dependent upon a dealer's allotment for specific builds. It could very well be that your dealer doesn't have the information at this point. Shoot your MA (Motoring Advisor, the person who took your order) an email or a phone call.

No need to panic. These things take time.

You can call and ask if they got a production number. Then you can start your obsessing over the car's delivery..every detail. lol

Try to be patient, I know it's hard! I also ordered on a Friday and was told I'd have a production number on Monday. Monday came and went and I emailed him and was told I'd have it by Thursday at the latest. Thursday came and went, so I emailed on Friday, and heard back a few hours later that he got it and would be emailing me with it soon. Once I got it, I signed up for the owners lounge, only to not see the status of my car move from "on order" for 3 weeks! It finally entered production on Tuesday, and I've been told I have an estimated completion date of next Friday. What I'm trying to say is, just getting the production number won't end your frustration, so just try to be patient and know that it will most likely take the full 6-8 weeks you were quoted to get your car.

I got my production number quickly, but only because they transferred an existing build they had to my specifications. It made for a pretty quick turn-around on the order but it still took just about 6 weeks from order to delivery.

I think it took close to three weeks to get my production number the first time.
