Mini Coupe or Countryman? HELP!

Hi All!

I am new to the forum as I am going to be a new Mini Owner. Yay!

Decisions: I know they are kind of opposite, but I have leased a standard Mini Cooper before. I am looking at the Countryman or Coupe now and need help deciding.

Situation: 26 years old. In a relationship, not married, no children (and no plans for kids for another 6 years). I usually just drive to and from work, small errands and small costco shops. I am a city guy and sometimes go for the occassional drive to Austin or San Antonio for the weekend.

It is usually just my g/f and I, but SOMETIMES we have another couple or some friends who go with us to dinner/bar and we take 1 car or meet there. She drives a 4 door Jetta.

I can't decide which would be the best purchase for me. All arrows point to 2 door, 2 seater, but is this really the best decision?

I have test driven both, they have both models I want at the same price range...I just can't decide. I need to have my decision by tomorrow so any owners of either model..please help me!

Thanks - PUD

I would get the Coupe, no doubt. You already have a four door car for the occasional dinner with friends, so why would you need another? I think you'll be a bit disappointed if you get the Countryman. Save that for six years from now!

i just picked up a countryman S on saturday and am telling you to get the coupe. i have 2 kids so i didn't have a choice. we love the countryman and feel it can do a little bit of everything. i don't think you'd be able to pick up anything at costco except for a bag of chips in a coupe though.

It can be done - you just have to become the tetris master of car loading.

I adore our countryman - but it suits our needs. It sounds like your heart is with the coupe, so that's what I think you should buy.
