Should I be conserned?

I have 2012 MC with just under 2,000 miles. My wife drives it every day. She said earlier today she saw a key sign with line across it in the service window twice. The car started fine.

When she came home, I started the car few times and everything looks fine. The car manual says it is possible malfunctioning key.

I really do not want to go to dealer just for this. It is 60 miles trip.

Should I be concerned???? thx for any advise.

Well, if the key stops working then you should be concerned. Until then, keep motoring.

You should always be concerned when your wife is driving your MINI.

Low remote control battery? Using the same remote fob each time?
If comfort access, you can replace the remote's battery. If not, leave the fob plugged in for a long drive, to recharge its battery.
