Inskip Mini Dealership

So when i first bought my MCS about a year ago i took it to the Mini and they told me that my warranty was up, fast forward to yesterday i took it for the recall replacement i get a call later that day stating that they made a mistake and my MCS still has a year left of Maintenance Warranty! i was a little mad because i could have had my oil change for free instead of spending money for the 3 oil changes i did. What should i do???

Also what does the Maintenance Warranty actually cover???

Nearly all consumables, brakes, rotors, filters, fluids (not gas), clutch, bulbs possibly.

Not clutch. Clutch isn't covered, though MINI will occasionally fix it for free as a good will gesture, but they are not required to replace under warranty terms.

Sorry to say, but it is up to you as the consumer to KNOW about the warrenty...and remember, the parts warrenty lasts for 1 year longer than the free mantance warrenty....so when some folks are told rhe free mantaince is up...they mistakenly think the warrenty is up...the car usually has a "inservice date on a card they give you that also lists your free roadside info (well i got one anyway).

If you paid for 3 oil changes, I assume you're like myself and are changing it more often than the car tells you to. MINI wont pay for the extra ones. But grumble to the service manager, or your salesperson, you'll probably get a free service out of it.

Guess it depends on how hard the dealer pushes for you, I know of quite a few who have had it replaced under maintenance without any hassle. It's the only reason I would get extended maintenance on a manual car.
