Got some choices top make

Ok, sold the VW GLI this weekend, I am going to miss it now:(

I narrowed it down to three MC's

2005 MCS Blue, no sunroof, 77,000 miles, sport chrono, heated seats, and almost every other option at "carmax" type place

For $1,000 more

2006 MCS Blue with sunroof, Xenon headlights, sport Chrono, auto-climate system, doors blacked out on the inside.
Original owner since new-she is retiring, always serviced at Flow in WS and has the Maint. package through 100,000 miles

I noticed wet oil inderneath the front of the motor and in the service history the gear box was repalced at Mini with a rebuilt unit in 2010, passanger seat airbag sensor, wheel sensors and 02 sensors were also replaced.
Also she changed the oil every 3,000 instead if the extended schedule.
Plus is no sales tax from a provate seller or delaership document fees.

Choice #3

About the same proie as #2

2006 MC (non-S) Pepper White, at Flow in WS with $51,000 miles, sunroof, cold weather package and waiting for a reply about other options. The Salesperson at the Raleigh dealership is checking on it.

I loved driiving the MCS but I am hesitent about the extra maint with the Supercharger, are the issuesi a bit overblown?

SC does not look to difficlult to serivce inthe DIY links.

I'd go with number 2 because of excellent maintenance and service history.

If you are coming from a GLI, I'd strongly suggest an "S." I came from a MkIV TDI, and I miss the power (bone stock).

I found out that poor maintenance could make up the price difference pretty quickly. I bought mine at 123k, and got hit with a lot of 100k stuff all at once. Where I live, it's tough to sell a used car, so there could be a decent amount of wiggle room on that price, too.

I'd go with an S also. Yeah, you may have to overhaul the Supercharger at around 200,000. My MCS has 130,000 and Purrs like a Kitten.

Bottom Line, The S is too fun not to have!

I do not believe I will ever be able to go with a non-Supercharged or Turbocharged car again.

I never really knew what I was missing.

Just got an email from the dealer about the White 06 non-S
The only benfiti that one has is a 2 year, up to 100,000 full warranty coverage that is included and better gas mileage.

Also, on the Blue 06S (#2) I noticed a slight popping noise decelerating from a high RPM, similar to a Harley but a lot quieter. Is that common with the S?

My Porsche does it since it has header and a free flowing exhaust.

The exhaust popping it part of the charm on all of them.

It is an engineered burble. Sadly there is no fire flash out the exhaust.

Not sure if I should be jumping for joy or thinking "What have I gotten myself into"

Go for an MCS. Almost anything with a supercharger is worth buying!
