Drove a CPO MCS yesterday...

Still looking for a good "S" or JCW. I'm thinning my herd from 5 down to 3. I've got a Lincoln Navigator and a '01 Boxster, modded.

I went to Bob Smith, and drove an 08 MCS, laser blue, sport package, Xenon, Mini HiFi, arm rest, um, and some more goodies. Car has 40k miles, appears to be in 'good' condition. The front wheels need to be powerwashed (it's got the nice 17" wheels on it), and the interior needs to be detailed.

Couple of questions, though. When we first went out and the car was cold, I noticed a little bit of a bog - almost like turbo lag. It seemed to get better. Also, the brakes felt a bit overboosted. I'm sure I'd get used to the latter, but wonder if there isn't some issue to be aware of for the former.

Previous owner took the "S" badge off the rear decklid for some unknown reason.

They're asking $19,995, and I'm seriously considering trading the Nav, and maybe the Boxster, too just to be rid of them. I know I'll get a lot less, but am really tired of trying to sell those cars on my own. Figure the Nav is worth at least $21k in trade. The Boxster is going to get creamed - maybe 9k?

Thoughts?

My 2007 S seems to bog a bit when it's cold. I find that using the "Sport" button all but cures it so it's not really an issue with these cars. Also, the brakes are very strong so the feeling of "over boost" is actually those big ole brakes grabbing hold of the rotors.
As for trading in your cars, yep you'll take a real beating, however, sometimes ya just gotta do what ya gotta do!

That price strikes me as being somewhat high.

New thread coming...

I found a 2009 JCW with only 28k miles. It was owned by an enthusiast, and if all goes well, I'll pick it up on Sunday!

WOOT!

If you purchase a CPO make sure after the purchase the CPO coverage is in place. I currently own a CPO car that does not have CPO coverage and is not eligible for a CPO warranty all because the sales person did not complete the required paperwork.
And after researching this there are a few other in the same boat and Mini is doing nothing about it other than referring me back to the dealer that made the mistake.
