I want some new wheels!!

Ive been looking to get some new wheels. On ebay i see they have OEM wheels and Replica wheels. Of course i would rather get the replica because much cheaper but im a little worried of how the quality would be. would they be unsafe to drive after putting them on later down the road and the quality of the rim. someone help please

I'm going to part with my stock wheels and tires when I get my car. They are the black 17" challenge wheels.

Replica wheels are cheaper, but generally heavier; sometimes quite a bit heavier.

From what I've read, replica wheels are not less safe to drive on than OE, at least on the road. I'm not so sure about track and autocross where the stresses are greater.

Build quality seems to vary with replicas, so it may help to know and research the company and their build process.

New take-offs such as offered by Phx JCW above represent an attractive alternative to replicas.

I don't consider wheels and tires to be good items to scrimp on.

So what do you think your asking price might be?

Replica wheels are generally a very low quality wheel. They are offered at cheaper prices because they've cut corners in production. They often use sub-par materials and don't put in the time or effort it takes to carefully engineer the wheel to respectable standards.

On top of that, buying and/or producing counterfeit products is arguably immoral.
