Storage tips and ideas

Hello, Putting my 2005 Mini S away for the winter.Any tips on what to do or not to do?? I have have heard from some people to fill the tank full and put in fuel additive, fill tires a little full. I have heard to unplug battery completely or hook up to trickle charger. Any thoughts would be great.
Thanks,Scot

Wash it, change the oil, disconnect the battery, put on jack stands with wheels off, and place a cover on it. There are more things you can do that will help but you are only storing it for a couple of months.

For all my small engines on power equipment I've become a firm believer in Stabil gas additive. Never used it on a car - never stored a car.

That is just about spot on to what I have been doing with my cars/motorcycles in the winter time. A couple things to add to that.. fill gas tank (I have never used any additives while storing my vehicles from Nov. to April and haven't had a problem) plug exhaust with a towel or something to prevent small creatures from making a home in your exhaust, use a charger on the battery to keep it cycled throughout the winter months (MINI Advanced Battery Charging System. Part# 82 11 0 150 930) and finally store wheels/tires indoors if possible to prevent dry rotting.

Ya I have stored cars for long periods(6 or more months) 3 different times now. And I have stored it for short periods(1 to 5 months) about 6 or 7 times. I forgot about the fuel stabilizer though.
