The forums are full of posts about the infamous CVT transmission. When it fails, it renders your MINI worthless because it costs around $8,000.00 dollars to replace. They also cannot be rebuilt because they are a "sealed unit". Sell it fast and run....

don't feel bad about the lady at the dealership that told you it had a twin turbo. I went to buy a diesel powered F350 from the Ford dealer and I knew more about the truck than the salesmen, the financer and the manager of the service dept..... Some sales people have no issue just trying to survive.......

I hate to be the one to say it but a 2012 base Cooper with a manual is a seriously sturdy car. I'm not Hyundai hater but I'd wager that the MINI is a better-bet long term.
