Sweet hopefully projectors for early 1st gen will be available!

 

They will be using the same projectors as they did for the Gen 2 in this thread. No need to hope when you know it will happen.

 

So I could have them painted LBM and alpine white............might have to start saving.

for a new set of lights yes, i'm pretty sure it's significantly less if you ship out your lights...

Does anyone know if I can legally get red halos on my headlights?

 

Do you want them to be on while on a public street or highway? If so, then no - forward facing red lights are not legal for public use in all 50 states.

If you'd like to just use them for shows, meets, etc. while on private property or a drag strip, then that qualifies as off-road use, and is generally legal.

 

Damn that would have looked sick.. I guess I'll go with just the regular LEDs then

RedandBlack, that's why i went with total new housings! couldn't go without car for 2-3 weeks plus I have my OEM's as spares.....the quality is great and JB and I are working on solving my bulb out issue.

The light output is great, i did go with 5000K pure white and man it's night and day as far as how much clearer and how much better the Xenon's light up and not.

I was going to go with the Halo's on my retrofit but in the end decided I wanted to stay or keep the look more stock than custom.

I think that the Xenons change the look of the front end completely. Your car looks soo much better!
I didn't go with Halos for the same reason- I feel like it would be a cop magnet.

It would be nice to have OEM as spares... in the end it would have been about $2-300 more to do the new housing, but what's done is done!

So you are getting bulb out? Is it after a certain amount of time? Hopefully we can get that fixed!

I do have a 2nd car to make the commute each morning- which is nice to have- but it's a 2003 Acura MDX with 220,000 miles. Driving to where I need to go isn't a fun experience in this car like it is in my MINI.

 

If yours are done mine should hopefully be getting built now, can't wait to see pics!!!!

 

bulb out warning after 30 minutes of continuous driving, JB is working on this with me. if you flash the highbeams for like 3-4 seconds, the bulb out warning dissapears. I'd imagine it'd probably come back on again after 30 min but not sure. I sent these results to JB but not worried about it, i'm sure there will be a fix.....

To note -- the info quoted above is correct. We can supply new OEM style housings or you can send in yours. Another option if you're very budget oriented, search for a used set (even "junky") to drive with while your good OEM ones are being built. We can do core sets (us buying yours back) but it's only if they are in flawless condition. Contact us for details

Halos are usually only available in white in CCFL form. We can get LED halos in nearly any color -- but white or amber is always recommended as anything else is DEFINITELY frowned upon by local law enforcement.

Can't beat a turnkey package no downtime is a win!
They are leaving with UPS shortly. Yes the bulb out warning was after 30 minutes, but vanished with a flick of the high beams. We're doing a little further testing with his scenario tonight to ensure a fix that lasts.
