I plan on getting a used mini. Hardtop, Cooper or Cooper S. I don't have an preference. Any tips or things i should know before getting a used Mini? How much mileage is considered low? I'm excited to own one! Every time I rent a car from zipcar or hertz, i would always grab the mini. Now I want to own one!

 

I like this MINI R50/R53 Buyers Guide at MotoringFile. The web sites for NADA Guides, Kelly Blue Book, and Craigslist car ads will give you a fair picture of the mileage ranges for a given year.

 

For pretty much any car, average miles would be 12,000 to 15,000 per year. So my MINI at 89,600 is considered low mileage for it's age. But there are some with a lot less and loads with many more. The thing with MINIs is that people enjoy driving them so much they do just that and rack up more miles than they would with other cars.

 

I bought my 05 around a month ago and it runs great 115k miles and stock clutch

if pampered they run great

 

Buy mine. 2009 MCS with 26,815 miles. Always garaged and babied. Never tracked!
