Removing Rear Seats
Once you've taken the torx bolts out of the middle support you will have some room to move the seats. This movement will allow you to get the sides out. The seats have a metal dowel with a pin through the end horizontally that that needs to be lined up with a slot to be removed. If I remember correctly, the seat needs to be at a 45 degree angle to have the pin lined up correctly. You can just apply pressure by pulling slightly away from the side while lifting the seat from flat to upright. You will feel it pop out once the pin is aligned correctly with the slot in the hole.
Start with them both folded down and work one side at a time. It doesn't matter which one first. Make sure both center bolts are removed before you try this. You need to have some play to work the sides out. Once the first side is out the other will be easy for you.
Trending Topics
not to get too far off topic but what is a rear seat delete kit? And do they make one for an R57 cabrio? I haven't used my rear seats since I've had the car and I'd love to take them out and have the space free for carrying stuff.
You're actually not off topic at all and it does exactly what you want. The only problem is that I've never heard of any RSD kits for a cabrio. I just Googled it and found threads on people wanting them but having to fab their own due to lack of demand, I guess. Try Outmotoring, they would know.
