Hello Officer..
I like Wyoming's speed laws. As long as it is a posted 65 mph zone the max fine is $250 and you cannot get wreckless driving added on if it was just a speeding violation.
I was pulled over at 141mph in 65mph in my MK5 GTi and only paid $250 and it didnt transfer back to my home state.
Needless to say I didnt know a cop had tried to pull over me until 50 miles later a trooper was waiting for me and explained it all to me.

I could scan in the ticket if you would like. =)
Wyoming is very used to people blowing through their highways, being the fact that they are quite wide open and unpopulated.
Cop supposedly tried to stop me in Cokeville, I was finally pulled over in Afton, WY. July 2nd, 2009
Only reason I wasnt arrested was it was a holiday and I was actually trying to catch up to my family on our way to Jackson Hole but there was no cell service up there and I didnt know the way so I was playing catch up after they didnt wait for me to get gas and grab food at the Flying J in cokeville.

I dont know if its something to be proud of to be honest.
Sure I love going fast, who doesnt. But at the same time there are a lot of risks to doing so and it is not something I would consider myself entirely proud of.
What mods do you have to run a 14.1 at 95? Are you manual or auto? What was your 60' I know these aren't drag cars I'm just curious lol it's fun to see minis at the drag strip! Know we can runcircles around all the other cars on the track if you just give us a few corners!
Manual transmission. I cut 2.0 60" on OEM run flats with the LSD. And I know how to drag race very well. I also am good at NLS. I am stock tune, but I have full bolt ons. I am supposed to make a dash out to Jan in the next two weeks to get a dyno tune from him out in cali.
Surprisingly, I dont think MINIS would do horrible in drag done properly with a good driver. Once I pick up my winter beater I am going to start taking apart the head and having it ported out and do some other work to it and see if I cant get this car to do some really impressive things.
That is until the drivetrain decides it cant handle it.

So let me set the record straight. I live in Florida and was a cop for 30 years in Miami. I take offense to the statement that "cops lie". No, most cops don't lie. I'm not going to say that not one single cop has ever lied, but most don't. Bad apples are in every profession. We're just out there doing our job, it's what we get paid to do.
There are no quotas or a means of fund raising for the municipality. Yes, you pay a fine but very little of that money ever makes it to the municipality and certainly not to the officer. As an officer you don't have a quota but you do have to show that you are out there working just like anybody else. You can't spend your shift under a tree or at a donut shop (thought I'd throw that one in before someone made a donut joke...heard them all). Also, you have officers that traffic is there primary job...State Troopers, motorcycle officers and traffic units. What would you have them do? It's their job.
If you've ever driven in South Florida you know that a lot of people deserve traffic tickets for all sorts of violations. It's crazy here. Just look at the number of accidents and fatalities.
It takes a fraction of a second for a car to go from normal to a death machine. I've seen so much carnage in all kinds of conditions. The young man that started this thread is only 20. How much driving and speed driving experience does he have? For that matter how much speeding experience do most people on here have. It is a small percentage that actually have track and racing experience. Even the pros smash up all the time and they are in a controlled environment with other professional drivers. Now take into consideration speeding in on our streets and highways with drivers with limited to much experience and add to that road, light, weather conditions and the unexpected actions of other drivers, pedestrians, bicyclist and many other variables.
I know I'm biased but it's because of all I've seen throughout my years. I've seen incredible carnage to those who have caused it and to those that were the innocents on the other end of a driver that caused it.
It takes a split second to lose control of your vehicle and cause incredible mayhem that you never meant to cause. There is a reason why a race track is where the professionals race.
So, forget about the kangaroo courts, awful court systems, ticket quotas and the lying cops. None of these are causing the thousands of auto fatalities and thousands of crippling injuries that occur every year. When you're driving on the roads it's not about you but about all the other people that are sharing the roads with you...some good drivers, some not so good, some distracted and some just plain careless. No one (at least not sane) gets up in the morning and says, "what a great day to go out there and cause a accident that will kill or cripple me or someone else.
Sorry for the soap box but I just felt I had to put things in proper prospective.
Happy and safe motoring to all.
