Black out window trims?

I am wondering if the exterior window chrome trims are removable? I would like to de-chrome them to black. Like this mini below (took this from pimpedout97x, NAM)

Go onto outmotoring.com and they have beltline blackout kits for 10 bucks, give or take!

I have heard of people temporarily using electrical tape. There is really no need to remove the trim with any of the vinyl options. Asthetic Creations, and Vinyl styles also have kits.
