You might want to consider HeatShield for shades (URL below). They make custom shades for boats, cars and aircraft (lots of aircraft). The ones they made for my Countryman fit perfectly. and were less expensive than OEM.

I would like the shield, using the using the Mini sun screen. I want the Nerd (male version) with red eyebrows and brown eyes. My mini is a chili red convert. Just let me know how much!

Prototype time!

My prototype is in! Check it out!
I decided to go with "The Rock" expression for this one. It's one of my favorites.

The new sunshade next to my first, hand-painted OEM version. Quite the improvement!

As you can see, the new shade folds up similarly to the OEM shade. It is a bit less bulky too.

So there it is. To my delight, the vinyl has attached very, very well to the sunshade! Better yet, it's folding along with it just like it's a part of the shade. Everything is looking fantastic and I can see these being created for you guys very soon. I'd like to give it a little time in the sun to be sure, but I'm excited to see some more designs printed and some other MINI's rocking the shades! Thanks for all of your support everyone!

Looks great!!! Can't wait to get mine. Let me know when you need a final decision on which design I want to go with. If you have a preference between the two listed for me (like for more design variants in your early runs) you could sway my decision.

Thanks everyone again for the comments on the shade! I'm really happy with how the first one turned out. As soon as I finalize some more details, I will be posting more info, including pricing, I promise!

Thanks. Luckily, the photo doesn't show just how much he really needs a bath.

Your signature says it's called "Pure" red. Is that the same thing as the "True" red? I really need to get my hands on the hex codes for the Countryman. Seems there are lots of new colors and so far the best I can do is photo-match as close as I can.

I think I've temporarily lost my mind...yes, you're absolutely right. It is Pure Red...where do you get the hex codes from? Is that something MINI publishes?

No, they don't really publish them. But, thanks to a quick Google search, I just found all the ones I needed. Should be good to go with any color you guys throw at me!

That's funny... I had started to post a question about matching colors but decided close was good enough and didn't want to sound too picky. Then shortly after that you post about matching colors using hex codes. It' going to be so much fun when we finally get these.

Frequently Asked Questions

To relieve some confusion and to answer questions I'm getting asked over and over, I've put together a little bit of an F.A.Q. on my website. The links at the top and bottom of the page are all working for the MINI Eyes part of the site now too. There's a bunch more info there so it might be worth checking out:
