Got a letter from my dealer the other day.

It was to remind me to come in for my yearly service.

I called and made my appointment for the 20th. @ 8:am

They changed my Oil & Filter- Replaced the wiper blades-checked all of the other filters (Showed me they were clean as new) Washed and vacuumed my car. (Nice Job)

I feel I'm really lucky to have a dealer that cares about pleasing me as a customer. If they did not send me the notice I probably would not have called them until the service light lit up.

The mechanic actually checks everything on his check list. The coffee is good, The people that work there are all friendly and the shop is so clean you can eat off of the floors.

Yep, Orlando Mini in Orlando Florida is hard to beat for excellent service.

I second your praise of Orlando Mini

As a recent buyer of a Mini Cooper hardtop from Orlando Mini I can vouch for how terrific the dealership is. I can't wait to get a second Mini from them when my Lexus 450h lease is up in 14 months! The Lexus is an incredible hybrid but it is a boring car. With the Mini I am all smiles all the time.

I recommend iwantamini.com / Orlando Mini to everyone. Go see Chris Cutting and see how great a dealership can be.

I'm jealous. I had to argue with the dealer and Mini to get my 3rd annual service done free 2 days after the anniversary date.

The Orlando Mini dealer is great.

This is my third service since I bought the car new OCT.30th 2008. I have been pleased every time I get it done there. They send me an E-Mail and give me plenty of time to make my appointment. I just turned 20,200 miles with no problems at all. On my second service they changed the brake fluid and all of the filters as well as the oil. They replace the wiper blades every time.

I live in Daytona which is about fifty miles one way but well worth the drive over. I usually stop by there for a coffee when I'm going to Orlando and just shoot the breeze with my salesman Kent.

All dealers need to take a lesson from these guys.

Wow, you're lucky! Last year I called my dealer about getting my one-year oil change for my '09 - I had 7,296 miles on it. They said no way - it doesn't need it and mini only pays for the 15,000 mile change. Well fast forward to last week.... My mini is "sputtering" at start-up (12,327 miles) so I call the dealer to make an appointment to fix it. Now they ask me why I didn't have an annual oil change so I tell them they didn't what to do it. No way they say, you're supposed to have it done at one year regardless of mileage... and continue "I hope you didn't do any damage to your engine"!

Sheeeesh!

It's great to hear about a dealer with a great rep. Although Orlando is to far for me, unless I'm up at Mickey's, I do have 4 in my back yard. I just ordered my 2012 MCS Convertible on Sunday from Ft. Laud. Mini. Any feedback on them or the other 3 in South FL?

Hi MBU

It does state in your owners manual that service is once every year if you do not go the long mileage.

You would think all of the dealers would know this. They are paid by the factory for the service so it's not like they are losing any of their own money.

They only will change a cabin or air filter if it needs changing. The Oil filter will be changed when changing the oil. My cabin filter and air filter were both very clean so they will go until next year.

I was told if my service light comes on to call for an appointment because there are other things to be done at a certain mileage.

It is a benefit to the dealer to ensure the free scheduled mantance is done, and on time....they get paid to do it, and if you buy a second (or a 3rd) a mini with good records is worth more for resale....that and this little bit of care helps create general goodwill in the brand, and increases overall relilibility.
Dealers that fail to do steps like this should loose their franchise imo.

Well I described the issues I had with my order at Orlando MINI in other posts. But I'm glad to hear the service experience is great since I will be taking my car there.

And don't forget about the fresh baked cookies and dippin dots ice cream!
