The cue ball story
The cue ball story
I like the looks of a cue ball as a shift **** and i thought i would put one in my brand new MINI, how hard can it be. Well there is more to the job than just pulling off the stock ****. It took me all afternoon, i had to remove the center counsel, unplug some wires, remove the e-brake boot along with the shifter boot and that shifter boot is a bear to get off and put back on.You need two or three extra hands to hold and un hook clips. I also took apart the stock **** so i could use the insert that fits on the shifter. I shortened up the story, there are other things that have to be done. But when you are finally done the white cue ball shift **** looks great with the black interior, well worth the trouble..........
First, i wish i would have taken photos but i was all fired up and didn't want to stop. The reason you have to take the e- brake boot off is to allow you to completly remove the center console so you can turn it over and have access to the under side where the shift boot is attached the ball and boot are then reassembled as a single unit on the console then placed back over the shift lever and screwed back in place. once you do one the second one is easier because you know what to do...
