Sirius radio problem since updates?
Sirius radio problem since updates?
I have a Mini Cooper S that came with Sirius radio. I now have big problems with it and since they updated their stations have had no resolution to the problem. When I contacted Sirius they gave me a code number to take to the Mini dealer to get it fixed. The Mini dealer told me that Mini issued a statement with no solution to the problem yet. If I can't use my Sirius the way it's supposed to be then why isn't Mini installing a new unit in my car while it's still under warranty? I love everything about my Mini but this is very frustrating.
Is anyone else having issues?
Thanks

What is the problem....
As far as I am aware, the change was limited to the station lineup/listings..
Have you tried to refresh you radio? Go to sirrius and click refesh, then have it on for a few min....and it will br re-authorized. I have an xm on mine (through a blitz-safe adapotor to the factory head unit....the car thinks it has sirrus..).

You have no idea what a nightmare it was trying to get Sirius to send a new signal, refresh, etc.. I mean one time they told me to open my door while they refreshed. The problem is every time i try to change a channel i get "to subscribe to sirius contact" the phone number. i also cant use any of my programmed channels i have to manually go from channel 1 to channel 100 which is ridiculous when i try to use the steering wheel controls i get that message and then im not able to change it. I have paid for the subscription and sirius has clarified that.
Some radio's auto updated the saved preprogramed numbers....some did not...
simple question....have you tried reprogramming your saved stations? Tune them in manualy, then save them....
Much anything else and I guess you are at the mercy of the dealer/service provider.....and I guess they both think it is the other ones issue.....

My subscription renewed last Friday, and since then it constantly loses signal and goes to acquiring -- spent over an hour with technical support and still performs the same -- when the subscription rolled over it is a new plan called Select, I'm wondering if the Mini Sirius box needs an upgrade program (Premium) and ideas?
thats what the Mini dealer said it needed a new box. He said that their was a memo put out by Mini that cars would be recalled. Now of course I contacted MINI USA and like always never hear back from them. Thanks for the tip Zippy i will try that today
