Problem: Rear window collection of dust.

For you coupe owners: Does the rear window collect dust? I have a Clubman and the back is a dust magnet! What a pain!

Tons of dust and road grime. It's unavoidable.

You mean the MINI dust collection system? Standard on every hatchback.

ACEkraut11,

This is off my topic but I noticed in your signature line you have a TR6. If you don't mind answering, what is its rated horsepower? A friend of mine had a '65 Triumph and I think he said it had about 35 - am I mistaken?

.

Same on my 2010 S coupe

I suspect the spoiler just makes it worse. Pretty similar to other rear hatch vehicles I've owned of all shapes and sizes and vintages, including minivans and wagons.

I never see any dust on mine, though it may be under all the dirt that I do see.

After a car wash in the driveway I thought I'll just take her for a spin to dry her off... big mistake.

If you don't like using towels to dry the MINI, try one of these. I bought one last year and works fantastic.....

Air Force Master Blaster

Get the double motor one, well worth the extra $$$$

I did the same thing once. I learned very quickly, shortly after I was the proud owner of about 30 microfiber cloths

A 65 Triumph probably would have been a TR4 since the first year of TR6 production was 1969, though they did produce the TR250 in 1968, which was the body of the TR4 and the engine of the TR6. In England they used PI or petrol injection combined with a more aggressive cam to produce a rated horsepower of 150. Because of emissions laws in the US they introduced USA market cars with twin Zenith-Stromberg carbs and a less aggressive cam which robbed the car of the power it was designed to have. The TR6 was rated about 106 horsepower. If your friend's car was a TR4 then it would have been a 4 cylinder engine, but I am not sure what they were rated for in hp, though 35 sounds way low.

Jsart wing tip will drop the dust/dirt collection to almost 0. One of the best mods I ever did!

The dust comes up off the road. Maybe one of those big mud flaps that goes all the way across the back of the car would keep the dust down.

It'd look like hell though!
