Extended Warranty

Hello,
I have a 2005 Cooper with automatic transmission.
I have 106K on it.
A friend of mine has suggested that I buy a extended warranty to cover my transmission.
My question is has anyone purchased one for themselves?
How much do they typically run?
What company did you use?

Any help would be appreciated.
I googled it but I have no idea what I am looking for and I would like to get the advice for fellow owners.

Thanks for your help.

I think an extended warranty offered by anyone except a dealer / manufacture is a scam.

Ask at a dealer but I doubt you can get anything worthwhile on a car that old with that many miles.
I doubt it would cover transmission anyway whatever you find - read the fine print.

Is this a Cooper with the CVT or an S with the Aisin auto? Your signature shows an S. If CVT, I would definitely get an extended warranty. Aisin is much more reliable.
