What do You Love about your Mini?

What do you hate about your Mini? OK, I admit I fell for that one and vented my grievances. Then to balance everything out I did a search looking for this thread and could not find it! So I'll go first.

I love that I can haul a$$ and get 31 MPG+ at the same time! I love that this is about the only car I have owned that is fun enough to just go for a drive just for the sake of driving. Some people don't like the interior but I love it. It has so much character that other cars seem to be so dated when you sit in them. We were looking at a Mazdaspeed 3 when we were considering the JCW Clubman. The Mazda performance was very tempting but the dash reminded us of a 70 Plymouth Belvedere.

Lets hear what you love about your Mini!

Where do I start?
1. Agreed, can haul @$$ on the highway and have averaged 34+ mpg.
2. It is so much fun to drive, love just going out to rip up the road. The destination isn't that important.
3.The looks you get from people when you are at a stop light.
4. Modding my mini to fit my personality.
5. They way it looks, I can't help but stare everytime I get out or when I am getting in it.
There so many things I can not list them all.

+1 on lateral acceleration! The way our MINIs bite into turns and ask for more is remarkable. My clubby feels very balanced, and kicking the tail out for a little oversteer correction is a pure blast, considering it's FWD.

Twin-vein turbo's power delivery.

Hill start assist is also a welcomed addition to the features.

I love the fact, that it is in fact, a MINI!

I also love be able to tell people when asked, "How does it ride?" My response is always, "like sh** but its fast, and fun to drive." Plus looks way cooler than their (insert others POS here) anyway!

I love how solid it feels. The first time I went to see one at the dealer I couldnt believe how heavy the doors felt, how when you tap on the sheet metal it doesnt feel tinny like most small cars. I sat in it and it DIDN'T feel like an economy car. Then I drove it and it was fast and fun. Then I bought one and it IS an economy car (as far as gas mileage goes). The original premium small car.

I love that I still smile every time I see it in the parking lot or in the garage at home.

I love the community it comes with- on here and lots of other places, including a local club that is very active. Lots of people always ready to listen to you gripe, rave or to help you out with a problem. Often, there's somebody that needs your help, your piece of knowledge as well.

I love that my wife bought one after wanting to drive mine more and more after I bought it. Our son loves MINIs too- they have brought us closer as a family. We all enjoy going on club drives, to club events and even planning drives for the rest of the club.

So many things!
1- You know EXACTLY what it is when you see it. No one can say, "It kinda looks like an Altima", or some other boring sedan.
2- Having a Jeep driver tell me he despises me and my car after noting I got 224 miles in half a tank.
3- The growl!
4- How kids light up when they see it.
5- How I light up just getting in it.
6- How it makes me want to go outside to wash it and take care of it.
7- Feeling like a million bucks motoring around town.
8- Fuel economy, even in my S, doesn't keep me home.
9- Knowing it will be the only car I drive for a long, long, long time.
10- How much my husband loves driving it and how happy he is that I'm thrilled with it.

+1. These were all great surprises when I first test drove one. Of course after that first look/test drive there was no doubt I was buying one. I don't think I ever decided on a new car so fast, at least on the type. I took many iterations through the configurator before I bought one

Unfortunately someone asked me if my MINI was a PT Cruiser (Almost killed him on the spot.)

Anyway, I love everything about my MINI. I love to drive it, the feel of it and the speed. It's just a great car.

I love that it looks like MY car.
I love how solid everything in it feels.
I love how it drives.
I love that I can open the huge windows and sunroof and feel like I'm in a convertible.
I love that it is a color. A unique color.
I love that people ask me about it in parking lots and gas stations.
I love when people give it a double take.
I love when little kids point it out to their parents.
I love that it has allowed me to meet so many great people.
I love the giant center speedo.
I love the checkered sport seats.
I love the hidden compartment on the dash.
I love the climate controlled glove box.
I love that it warns me when it's chilly outside.

2011 Mini convertible.... I love the extra cargo space it has that my last car didn't have. Yep, not being sarcastic. Last car was a saturn sky redline. NO cargo space at all. My cargo space was the front seat. I could either take a passenger or take stuff. Not both. The mini has a surprising amount of cargo space, even being a convertible. The trunk is small but with the back seat folded down it has plenty of room.

The automatic convertible top. The Sky had a manual top which was a much simpler design but also much less convenient.

The half-open sunroof mode.

The lower insurance rates.

The 30% better gas mileage compared to last car.

Dislikes - the bluetooth I paid 500 bucks for sucks. Will likely end up having to buy some kind of aftermarket BT.

Missing an engine/coolant temp gauge and an oil pressure guage. WTF Mini?? No reason this shouldn't be standard on any current car.

Should have ... the judge would have thrown out the charges. Justifiable homicide.

I love the fact that it's been mine for 25 months and unlike any other vehicle I've ever owned, I love it more today than the day it arrived. I love it!
