Went on a MINI run today and...

A bunch of people in the NY area and myself went on a run around Long Island today and something interesting happened.

Three of us got pulled over for tinted windows, but upon the officer whining at us for about 20 minutes, he let us all go on our way with a warning

Which is why I won't tint my windows...I (involuntarily) move around too much and never know which states allow 'em and which don't.

Nice shot though!

I think tint laws are such a crock as long as the windshield is still clear and you can see out the sides at night. I remember having the back windows of my buddies Mustang painted to hide the sound system in high school, he got pulled over for it soo many times, but here in Colorado it's legal. He eventually printed out a copy of the CO. tint laws and would hand that to the officer with his licance and registration. After about the 5th time of doing that he stoped geting pulled over for it.

Funny thing is (around here at least) the cops pulling you over for dark tint have tint on thier windows so dark that it is nearly impossible to see in the car (even pressed up against the glass).

That picture is priceless! Shame that had to interfere with your NY run.

A few of my police buddies said that the window tint is an officer safety issue as well. Makes tem real nervous when they can't see inside the car during traffic stops

Quite true Beagle. If I were in their shoes I'd have my gun drawn everytime I pulled over a vehicle where I couldn't see the driver and occupants. They've lost too many brother officers not to.

Those spotlights that they always blind you with at night, seem to be bright enough to go through anything though.
