MINI Rollover! Pics inside!

Not mine thankfully!

My friend's son took the the MINI out for an unauthorized joyride. I won't go into the details of how it happened but he rolled it completely over with it landing on it's wheels. He then drove it 10 miles back to home. He didn't even get a scratch (from the wreck - from his father may be another story).

I'd say this is a GREAT testament to the safety of a MINI.

Wow, some interesting pics!

..that is pretty impressive that a Mini can take a roll over like that..with driver uninjured..and car completely drivable. (not that I ever wanna do it )

..I see often in the news when large SUVs and P/U trucks roll over...the top is crushed down pretty bad & has to be pryed/cut open to get folks out..I guess just the sheer weight..

...just wondering, how many/or which of the airbags inflated with the roll over?

The kid is an idiot. Doesn't he know he was supposed to run away and pretend he didn't know anything about it?

He'll probably be a grandfather by the time his grounding is over.

If airbags had popped would not be able to drive it.

Doesn't look too bad for a rollover! Much better than my M Roadster, after my son rolled it.

One of our HR MINI members rolled him MINI last year. It was a pretty violent roll over and it held up surprisingly well. I'll check to see if he minds if I post some pics of it.

I'm sure the insurance will love the fact he left the scene of the accident...

How the hell do you roll over a MINI?!?!

I understand if you hit grass or curb or something, but otherwise, I've been powersliding cars at 100MPH and more and it never felt like I was gonna end up facing the wrong way...

You answered your own question.

He hit a burm on the side of the road (at least that is his story)

Time for that kid to sell the rice in the background to pay to fix his dad's MINI. That'd be priceless.

...I thought I'd heard something like that before....is why I was wondering if which/any of them inflated...there is so many little ones all around in there.

..although the Mini came through this pretty well, I'm kinda suprised by the fact that the Mini could take a full roll over...and none of the various small airbags popped/inflated from this type of accident?

..I thought the side bags & ones in the seats were designed to protect in this kinda impact...?

the rice has a blown engine - he should still have to sell it.

Not making a claim? That car is close to totaled. They may change their mind after the estimates.

Thats not much damage!!

It's just going to take a couple pounds of body filler, A few cans of spray paint and a new windshield to get that Mini back to looking brand new again.

Well it probably could also use a new mirror or two.

It don't even need a new antenna.
