100 or 110 octane on MCS.

I put Shell's V-POWER(octane rate 93) on my 2011 MCS.

Few days ago, I found 100 unleaded octane gas at citgo

Although I pumped 93 as usual, I wanna try it, but worrying it could harm

my MCS. Is it ok to pump 100? I know high octane gas does not work on

regular cars, but I think out MC or MCS are different.(What I mean MINI

requires premium gas) If I put 100 or 110, will i get a better mileage or better

performance?

Thank you.

Unless you're tuned for higher octane, the only performance you'll gain is in power to weight ratio. Less money in your pocket = less weight.

Seriously though...no reason to go higher octane. You should be able to run 91.

100 octane and 100LL...hmmm...now you are going into the world of AvGas.

In a MCS there is no major improvement that would out weigh the cost. Just stick with the normal premium and you will be fine.

100 octane is rated for a higher compression ratio, a ratio that a regular non-tuned MCS engine cannot reach on its own.

The last time I flew, the price of fuel per gallon was $5.60, save the money, stick with premium.

I forgot to mention, if you do use 100 octane then your engine will compress the fuel to 93 octane levels regardless.
