Whats your highest ticket ... so far
I have a Beltronics RX65 and I love it. Cost $300, but it is very reliable. To me, it is an insurance policy. When it goes off, I check my speed.
Beltronics/Escort are owned by the same company. Valentine 1 is a separate company. They are all based in Cincinnati, Ohio and are the only radar detectors that I feel are worth owning.

only been pulled over once in the 3 years I've had my license, and it wasn't in my mini, but my speedy little civic coupe I had before. Cop caught me as I was on my way off the highway one morning on my way to classes, thankfully I have a gold PBA card, got me right out of a nassty ticket
Had to sit through about 10 minutes of being lectured by the cop though, but a fair trade off nonetheless.
I would have got a ticket for running a red light (didn't come to a complete stop for a right turn) by photo enforcement. $450 in L.A. , but the car is registered in my wife's name so they sent it to her. FYI if it's not you in the photo and it is obvious (wrong sex) than you don't have to pay and you don't have to say who it is. They would like you to turn the culprit over, but they can't make you.
I've managed to talk my way out of all of my tickets, at least to get them reduced. But the biggest one was $75 and three points on my license. I told the cop, "Well, it's about time I got one, it's been a while." To which he asked how long to which I said ten years. Then he said "That's too good a record to ruin. I'll reduce it to eighteen over, that comes with a small fine and no points. Some cops are nice. When I chalenged the ticket he didn't show up in court and it was tossed out.

I am paranoid about tickets, so try to watch my speed and am constantly yelling at my husband to slow down. Luckily I haven't had a speeding ticket so far, but I have had a couple narrow misses... pre-Mini though. I just find it amusing to hear all the comments about VA. If there is one thing I know, it is never to speed in VA! Every time I go up there, there are tons of cops hiding between the lanes on the highway. And one of my near misses was in VA.
When I was younger and stupider I was accidentally speeding in a 35mph zone late at night in my home town. I noticed this when I saw the cop flip his headlights on in a parking lot as I passed. Of course the cop had noticed too. I put on my "oh noes I am so sorry and a stupid teenage girl" face and luckily the cop was nice and just gave me a warning.
Later I was in VA traveling with another car. I was going way too fast, the other car following me. Not that it matters, but I really did think the speed limit was 10mph higher than it was. Still would have been speeding though. The cop pulled me over and the other car stopped too. They should have kept going though because they got a ticket while the cop said the reading wasn't good enough on my car to give a ticket. Thankfully the cop was honest about that, most would have probably given a ticket anyway. He gave me a verbal warning about points and things, and sent me on my way... never to speed again and feeling incredibly guilty about my poor friend.
With those two incidents I learned my lesson! Thankfully the lessons weren't any harsher than that. And later I had another lesson by proxy that made me respect the speed limits in a new way. Someone I never met, but was an acquaintance's best friend, was killed instantly when they were t-boned by someone that was speeding. It was an area of a road I travel every day, where the speed limit briefly drops from 55 to 45 in a hilly area. People constantly speed in the 55 zone and don't slow down for the 45, and even get angry when you slow down for the change. There are reasons for speed limits, respect that and it might save someone's life.
