Rear lights missing on my Cabrio????
Rear lights missing on my Cabrio????
I recently bought a 2010 IY Cabrio. I have been trolling these forums for days now and looking at a lot of different pics of other owners cars. One thing I notice is that on many of the Coopers, there are two red marker lights in the rear diffuser area on the rear bumper. Mine has "blanks" installed. My question is, can the lights be installed after the fact and is the wiring already there and it's as simple as inserting the lights and plugging in. My MCSC has just about every option except the convenience package. Any input would be appreciated.
The two locations are for the optional rear fog lights. Read this thread: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-retrofit.html
People have successfully done the retrofit but in some cases the dealer was unable to program the function.
You can also make them work as extra brake lights: http://www.gominigo.com/BLK-MINI.html (scroll to the bottom of page for 2nd gen)

Thanks for the reply. After I posted I checked for the wiring and it appears the plugs are there right above each blank insert. So even if I have pre-existing wiring and a toggle on my dash I still have to have it programmed????? Whatever happened to the old days when if it was wired it was just plug n play? LolI guess computers control all aspects of this car.
