Storm Cooper on Hoth

I competed in Snowcross at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah yesterday. There was a lot of snow in the morning, but the racing and sun cleared out a lot by the time the day was over. There were two R53's in the event, though i have yet to find pics of the other. I couldn't believe how much better we were racing even than the AWD cars such as EVO's and STI's. How many of you have competed in snow events? What were the results?

Anyway, here are some images from the event to give you an idea.

Cool pics, thanks for sharing! This looks like a neat event, I would be interesting in doing something like this, however I am in Hawaii . There was this video of a MINI having some fun in the snow of an IKEA parking lot on youtube, which reminded me of your photos.

Did they require everyone to run with their windows open? I wouldn't want any of the cold or snowy slush to get inside.

Also, I'd imagine that the first to go would have more trouble until the snow would wear out and melt as more drive.

Still looks like it was a good time.

I agree with you nabeshin, at least the slushy part. Hey --by the way-- my car is six months older than yours and you have 10,000 mile more than I. Quite driving so much .

I always thought my mileage to be quite low for my car's age. Thanks for reminding me though, I updated the figure. Nearly 15,000 miles of that is from road trips, and at least the other 1/3 to 1/2 is from driving around for fun.

It would be cool to compare times at this snow event between similar cars and compare tires, perhaps snows to all seasons or different brands of snows.

So how does a snowcross work? I assume there aren't "workers" standing out there to pick up cones, but some has to. Sounds like fun (driving the course not working it
