Mini Ordered, Now The Wait Begins

I just ordered my first Mini yesterday, non s, HB/B with fog lights, clear turn signals, 5 star spoke wheels & anthracite headliner... kept the colorline & dash/doors the stock colors as I plan to get vinyl styles carbon dash and door pulls in time as well other interior accents to suit my vision of clean and simple... Now the twitching of waiting 6 - 8 weeks begins hahaha... is there a cure?

The only cure is seeing, touching, & driving it. Funny thing, once you lay eyes on it you'll forget all about the wait. I never thought I'd memorize a VIN until I ordered my first MINI...Good Luck!

I FEEL YOUR PAIN! I ordered mine 3 weeks ago, just before Christmas and New Years, so obviously NOTHING was going too get done in that time. So I feel like I have been in waiting limbo for those 2-3 weeks . But hopefully that just means that mine will be at the front of the line when they do start going back into work. But still getting my Mini to Hawaii is a hard wait.

Have you checked out the Owners Lounge on MINIUSA.com? You can check the status of your car there in relation to when its in production and what not. Pretty neat. But not so neat if you check it everyday and nothing happends!

Me and my husband go back to the Mini dealer every weekend after hours and I can drool on the Minis they have on the lot to hold me over. That and I freak out in my husbands car whenever we see a Mini.

Oh, and what color is your baby?

I've yet to get my production number yet ( only 4 days since ordering) and as far as the color goes, I had thought I was going with either pepper white or white silver but when I went to order her those colors failed to really pop in my eyes then I turned around and glistening in the morning sun was Horizon Blue I never considered anything else after that hahaha, the color of it on miniusa looks darker and dull, in person it freaking sparkles! hehehe.....

Welcome new folks

but let me suggest something that might help you from stepping on toes

You bought a MINI
which looks something like

or

while a Mini looks like

and refers to the "classic" Mini produced from 1959 thru 2000 under several manufacturer names and monikers but generally traced back to the Austin Seven and the Morris Mini Minor of 1959.

I'm bi-Minual .... I have both in the garage . . . .

The Captain is correct. His point is however only significant from a branding standpoint and for seeming informed and educated amongst MINI and Mini snobs such as ourselves. So, "Mini" for classic and MINI for modern.

Hmm I haven't received my VIN # either, and it's been 3 weeks. Spoke with my MA today and he said it still hasn't moved to "In Production" either, which I already knew. Oh, and thanks for the clarification between a "MINI" and a Mini....

This would make me suspicious. As an MA, I can tell you that when you place an order, a chassis number should be generated within a week, two weeks at the longest. Make sure the car has been ordered.

I know the car has been ordered because I can find it in the Owners Lounge of the Mini USA website and my MA told me everything has been sent in and acquired, but I'm guessing because I ordered it just before the holidays that things are still slow to pick back up. That's what I'm hoping for anyway

Oh Torri, if you see it in the OL, you're good. I misunderstood.

Oh ok well how soon on average does it take to it to transition from "on order" to "scheduled for production" though?
