Latest Navigation DVD

I bought a new MINI tonight with a nav system. The Navteq DVD it came with is marked 2009.1. I'm suspicious that this is probably not the latest version. Does anyone know how I can find out?

No, 2009.1 is not the latest version. The latest was released around March 2010, from TeleAtlas (BMW/MINI switched from Navteq to TeleAtlas during the past year).

Thanks for the information. I'm going to try to persuade my dealer to give me that newer version that I should have received with the car

They will probably switch the DVD out for you. I'm sure they have a couple newer (build date) MINIs with the new DVD and they will probably switch it out and hope the person that buys the car won't check.

You're right - that's probably how I ended up with an old one.

Also, FYI, 2009.1 means that's when the Navteq data was made. There is always some manufacturing lag between the Navteq data and the DVD that goes into your car.
