COP is "Coil Over Plug". Instead of having a single coil that has the electrical charge distributed, COP has a mini coil over each spark plug. (It's a BMW thing.)

Pretty sure I know which options are on mine. Would be cool if there was a website where I could enter my options, and as each additional option is entered, a GUI would show me how unique my Mini is. For instance, I type in Hyper Blue and get a number for how many were made in 2006. I then enter chrome-line interior and it displays all hyper blue Minis with that option, etc. I'm pretty sure with the optional oil temp alternator guages installed by the dealer, mine is nearly unique in any case since so few owners went for that option.

Still, would be fun to play with. Imagine typing in "2006 John Cooper exhaust" just to see who many where manufatured with the special exhaust option? That's one question I would be curious to have answered.

 

Bought my 06 used from a non-MINI dealer. They didn't know much about the car, so it would be interesting to see what you find.

I just bought a '05 mini cooper convertible. It didn't have a owners manual. Also I only got one key, which the battery won't charge. Is their a way to remove the battery and replace it?

I don't think this is the best place to be asking the question- however I'll answer you .

You have to get a new key made for your MINI. Make sure you bring your title and drivers license as they will need these to order your key.

Underated MINI,

I'm sure you are kicking yourself at this point (I would be), but if for some reason you aren't, I'm in the same boat as most of these people. Bought the MCS used and have basically guessed at the options.

Any insight you can lend would be greatly appreciated, but if you are overwhelmed with this stuff, I completely understand that also.
