Ok, I think I'm going to find a less "rugged" trip to take. If I had an older car, or one that was already decked out with all the guards, mudflaps, clearbra, "Mad Max/Road Warrior" mods, etc. I might do it. But I think I agree that I cherish my new car a bit too much.

I'd love to do the trip to see the open areas, but perhaps it's just a bit *too* open for me for now. I'm sure there's a lot of cool areas to view that are reachable with minimal gravel.
