Seafoam.. the magical CEL killer

So I went ahead and bought some seafoam today after seeing a lot of members happy with it here. (I'll post video soon)

For a 2002, I got a surprisingly low amount of smoke come out of the back of the car. I had a period of I'd estimate of about 10-15 seconds of big smoke, and then it went away, even when I drove around afterwords.

I've been having my CEL light come on for the last few days now. I figured it was an O2 sensor or something and was going to have it checked out this weekend. I took it to Advance Auto Parts today, but they couldn't figure out what to do with the car haha. Anywho, after I did the seafoam, my light turned off! And I've started up the car and driven it 5-6 times since then, and it's not come back on, unlike before where it might go off for one start up but then come back.

I don't know what could have been fixed, but I tell ya, it's the BEST 9.99 I've spent in ages! Just something I figured I'd share with you guys.
Many thanks to everyone for posting info on how to do this procedure.

Did you use the aerosol can or regular? I just ran a can through my tank and it got a bit smoother. When I was at Advances Auto Parts the other day I noticed they just started stocking the aerosol cans so I picked one up. My car is running great so I'm going to keep it on stand by.

That's a great feeling when you can cure a problem with such ease. Thanks for the post!

I used the regular. I was a bit worried about spilling the stuff everywhere, but that PCV hose has quite a bit of pressure! It sucked in all the liquid that was falling out of the bottle, even if it wasn't in line, and forced the liquid in the car. I only spilled a couple drops on my fingers and that was it.

Yea it really is. And it's not something I was expecting, either. The car has a smoother idle, but performance seems to be the same.
