mini loaner's
mini loaner's
long story short...my 09 mcs's ac like..blew (it blows hot air right now) and the clutch pedal (could be the clutch) makes a squeaking/clicking sound when i let go of the clutch. a long with a bunch of other stuff (minor stuff...ac/clutch are the major issues)
anyways...i called up the dealership to schedule an appointment for the problems...and i asked for a loaner..and they claimed that their loaners are not available till july 8th...
is this legal??? its probably gonna take a week for them to fix my car (took em 2 whole days for an oil change...i wouldve done it myself if i didnt know). is there anything i can say or do so they will give me a loaner??

Is it legal? Yes they don't have to offer you a loaner or any form of transportation. Ask them what their repair schedule looks like they might have a lot of cars there for repairs or service.
Don't feel bad, I bought 13 BMW's from Hancock BMW in Columbia, SC and couldn't get a loaner from them. Needless to say I will not be buying any more BMW's from them. They changed owners a couple times in the last 3 years and changed their name.
Our local dealership has an agreement with Toyota next door to help make sure loaners are provided. In many cases, if the appointment is set up far enough in advance, you will get a MINI. Otherwise, you get a Toyota product. Only thing is I have had three Prius' as loaners previously. I hated that. This past service, I at least had a Toyota Camry as a non-MINI loaner. Was actually pretty nice. Came with XM Satellite radio, which was certainly not expected. And, when I did set up an appointment far enough in advance, I did get a MINI.
My guess is the dealership you are going to has a limited number of loaners they can afford. The availability of them depends on how many MINIs come in for service at a given time. The importance of your problems could also be part of why they are taking so long to get it in for service. I do realize it's summertime, and an A/C is important to have. But you can technically live without it until the service. If your clutch is working fine other than the clicking noise, then you should be OK as well.
One thing I do like is our dealership provides a loaner even when your MINI is out-of-warranty as part of the service. I do very much appreciate that.

I go to Dreyer in Indianapolis too. They don't have a lot of MINI loaners but when they're out they send you to enterprise to get one. Ask about that. Maybe they'll rent you a car.
All that said, they don't owe you a car. You could take your car in today if you're worried about it...you'll just be without wheels. It's how a lot of other people have to live that don't have our fancy european cars!

Like everyone said, it depends on the dealer. Each of them are a franchise, just b/c they sell the same product doesnt mean they offer the same things. MINI of Annapolis provides loaners but it will push back the availbilty of getting in. Where I work we have a set of loaners and we only give them out if we are keeping your car for more than a day to have it worked on. If not, we have a deal w/Enterprise to get customers loaners.

The Mini dealer in Mountain View, Ca is great. They always have some sort of Mini available. Last time I took it in, it was to have the entire top replaced. (That's another story but kudos to Mini of Mountain View!) Anyway, I first asked if they had a GP as a loaner. The gal laughed and said "I wish!" Then I asked if they had a JCW. Same response. Then I asked for an S. She said no. So I then asked for a convertible. (My car is a JCW convertible.) She said, I think I can help you there. Since they share facilities with the BMW dealership, she had access to the BMW's and she hooked me up with a 2010 328i convertible hardtop. Nice!
