My New Mini - Driving Evaluation

I picked up my MINI last Thursday in Los Angeles. I live about 350 miles from L.A. so my Son and I flew down to pick it up. We left L.A. at about 4:00 P.M. and decided to drive down the Pacific Coast Highway because of L.A. traffic. I can only say "WOW" to the MINI driving experience. What a great car. I had a complete blast even in some gnarly traffic. We drove all the way to Hensley Lake in Central California. The next day my wife and I drove through Oakhurst, and Coarsegold on the way to Bass Lake. The roads were windy and free of traffic and I had a hard time keeping the car under 4500 RPM's My wife drove the car and to my dismay (she is not much of a car person) liked it a lot. She even told me that if something ever happened to me she would keep the MINI.

It was a great five days and we put about 600 miles on the MINI. If you don't have a MINI yet, go buy one. It is by far the best driving experience I have ever had!!!

Just thought I would add another update. Just hit the 1050 mile mark. Took the MINI to Yosemite National Park. Had a blast on the curves and got 33 miles per gallon to boot. Having so much fun. Just turned 42 and the MINI makes me feel like I am 25 again...

Congrats also on your obvious good taste---Pepper White! I am 55 and my MINI makes me feel like 32 or so, so the math remains the same.

Awesome shot!

I'm jealous that you're so close to YNP. Do you know if the road to Glacier Point is open yet? I'm thinking of spending a few days in the park and hiking up Yosemite Falls.

Congrats on the car. I like the black wheels with Pepper White. Looks almost serious! Covers up brake dust too.

Yes the road to Glacier Point is open. We went up for the view. It was fabulous, the waterfalls are amazing right now.

Welcome to the MINI madness! You're already off to a good start. I'm so jealous; I've always wanted to cruise the roads in Cali!
