Their hood scoop was crap...

The gaps between the hood & the scoop were inconsistent plus I could see 60-grit sanding lines through the primer coat.

The fiberglass scoop had trapped air that expanded when Mini's body shop tried to bake the part after painting. The expanding gas caused the paint to flake-off immediately. They had to re-paint it 4 times before making it look good.

Keeping my fingers crossed that it stays on the car the next time I go over 100mph.

So, I'll rephrase what I said... "normally, NOTHING he sells is crappy quality and it all fits PERFECTLY."

Fixed.
Hey Mark was the chassis flexing? Me and like 5 other owners were helping a guy install a front strut brace on a Celica a few years ago, and it wasn't fitting, we ended up having like three people on each side of the car trying to bend the bar into place, but accidentally the owner released the parking brake, the car rolled 5 feet and the bar fell right onto the strut bolts.

Interesting thread. Mini parts are pretty much expensive with whatever vendor one use's. And most vendors charge for shipping. Plus if customers don't have tools they probably shouldn't be doing their own modding.

I met Peter in person when I went to pick up the 16% Pulley at their place. Those guys over there are really nice and supportive. A+ for them. Although their price are on the high side. The thing that catches me is, how come parts are always on back order? Do they use a second vendor to make parts for them or is it all in house?
