On Saturday I washed Jasper, put on black headlight rings, and added some HP in the form of stickers.

BTW, he's not leaking any fluids. That's bath water that was trapped behind the grill.

Well...I am going to make a separate post on this but I think I might have a possible blown head gasket or cracked block. Barnaby overheated on the highway for the 3rd time in 6 months. Waited 5 hours for a tow to the MINI dealer ... not looking good though.

That stinks, man!
I hope it's something simpler to fix.

Pulled the hood stripes off, they came off in one piece.
Installed my M7 vortex hood scoop.

Any chance it's just an air bubble in the cooling system?

Thanks all but it doesn't look too good. It was a bubble that cause the overheating in the first place but since I had to drive while it was overheating to get off the road it overheated too far and possibly blew a head gasket. The oil is milky and frothy..

Excellent driving grounds! Totally jealous.

Lived up in Whitefish, Montana for 12 great years. Can't wait to take the Mini back out that way for a drive up my favorite roads. Some of my favorites are HWY 93 from Salmon, Id. to Missoula over the Bitteroots, anywhere around the Flathead Lake, Glacier's Going to the Sun Road, and back on HWY 93 from Radium Hot Springs in B.C. over the hump to Alberta to Banff or Lake Louise, the Columbia Ice field's Athabasca Glacier and up to the town of Jasper. That's all definitely Mini territory.

Hope you took some pictures along the way to share here!!

Something I learned if anyone else is interested, if your car starts over heating and you MUST keep driving, slow down but don't pull over. If you pull over and stop, your car will super heat. Roll down all your windows and turn your heater on as high and hot as it will go. Of course if you are over heating you should not keep driving if at all possible.

Good info. I don't push the car too much, but even then I do the last few miles of any drive at an easy pace to allow some cool down. Turbos do seem like that a lot.

Did this happen to you today or something? I don't know if I am looking to far into this but is this poking fun at my previous post and misfortune if it is, that's so not cool. Loosing your only mode of transportation and favorite car is a bad situation I hope none of you have to get into. Motor on

Steffen, not at all! My dad taught me this. He worked for Chevrolet and was the guy that Chevy would fly in when no other mechanic could figure out what was wrong with a vehicle. I have had to use that trick several times.
I feel very bad for you and Barnaby! I was just passing on some knowledge for those who did not know about this.
