I showed her off to a guy I work with. I picked him up and brought him to work this AM so he could get a company car. He was impressed to say the least...... God I love my MINI.

Exactly why I'm saving up to have someone else do it.

How many hours did it take and how experience are you?

No experience at all! And the problems I had were my own fault. The starter has some wiggle room, and when I tightened it back down it wasn't aligned properly, everything is fine now.

It took four days to do it the first time, only because I didn't know what it would take to lower the transmission. When I took it back apart to try and figure out what was wrong, it only took a day. Now everything works great.

I love working with my hands, so I was dying for the chance to do this.

I just got rid of my Conti runflats after 30,000 miles. Thank gawd!! I went with a Bridgestone potenza poleposition tire and they are amazing. The road noise is at least 60% less. I still feel every road variance, but it is so less jarring. It seems like I am driving a totally different car. Should have made the move 3 years ago. 2008 Clubman S sport package

I thought I'd add a couple pics of the repair progress... Note the GP rear inserts, in the 2nd pic, awaiting paint and installation.

Hmmm...self-cleaning..We have had so little rain here, that when it does rain I get round dust spots all over her. So, I take a slightly damp micro fiber cloth and go over her and dry with another micro fiber cloth. Does a very nice job and its quick and easy! Good for in between major baths and detailing...
